Strongs, Michigan

Strongs was named for an early storekeeper and mill operator.  It was settled in 1899 by 15 families that came to work in the woods cutting shingle bolts.  The shingle mill employed several workers and with a few years became an established village.  It was a station on the D.S.S. & A. Railroad.
